In Your Honor
Indiana University Bloomington holds each of its students in high esteem and takes an added measure of pride in those who show sustained academic excellence over time. We honor these outstanding seniors and other academically distinguished undergraduates at the IU Bloomington Honors Convocation each year. This convocation is an occasion for students and their families to come together and be recognized by faculty and staff for their hard work, dedication, and achievements as IU Bloomington's top scholars.
The 2026 IU Bloomington Honors Convocation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 in the Indiana University Auditorium, 1211 E. Seventh Street, on the IU Bloomington campus. Doors will open for seating at 1 p.m. EDT. Senior honorees should arrive no later than 1:30 p.m. EDT. Convocation will begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
During the Honors Convocation:
- Senior Founders Scholars will be individually recognized.
- Senior Hutton Honors College Notation recipients will be individually recognized.
- All other Founders Scholars will be acknowledged as a group, but not individually recognized.
- Scholars from other select programs will also be honored, but not individually recognized.
*All full-time IU Bloomington undergraduates with a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or higher earn the title of Founders Scholars.
We look forward to celebrating all of our scholars during the convocation and at other events throughout their academic careers. In addition, we look forward to shining a spotlight and providing individual recognition at Honors Convocation during their senior year.
After the Honors Convocation:
Immediately following the convocation, you and your guests are invited to a reception around Showalter Fountain with live music, refreshments, and photo opportunities with deans, faculty and fellow honorees.
