Indiana University confers upon its most academically distinguished undergraduates the designation of Founders Scholar. These students are honored at an annual event, the IU Bloomington Honors Convocation. 

The 2020 Honors Convocation has been cancelled because of the rapidly evolving situation with Coronavirus COVID–19.

Freshman Induction

Freshman Induction is a key component of the first day of Welcome Week. Along with two other important events during a student’s years at IU—the annual IU Bloomington Honors Convocation and Commencement—it is a celebration of academic aspirations and success.

The 2020–21 Freshman Induction ceremony will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.
